The American Music Awards just took place and Taylor Swift was honored with the Artist of the Year award for the third year in a row and for the sixth time in total! However, the superstar was not in attendance to get her trophy this time around.
Even so, she did not leave her fans wondering why, as she was quick to explain her very good reason for skipping the awards show.
As you might know, ever since her former label Big Machine Label Group, sold the rights to her earlier albums to Scooter Braun, Taylor has been working hard to fix her situation.
With that being said, she was apparently busy in the recording studio earlier today and that is precisely why she did not attend the AMAs to pick up her award.
Still, she expressed gratitude over the honor in her message to the fans, saying: ‘Thank you so much for this. This is a fan voted award, and it means so much to me. You have been beyond wonderful all the years of my career, but especially this one, when we have been so far apart, we have not been able to see each other in concerts, but I still feel very connected to you through music. Your reaction to Folklore and all of the ways in which your imagination honored that album, I love you so much and am really, really lucky because of you.’
Taylor went on to explain that ‘The reason I am not there tonight is I am actually rerecording of all my old music, in the studio where we originally recorded it so it has been amazing, and I cannot wait for you to hear it. Have a great night. I love you so much.’
At this time, it is still not known when Taylor will be releasing her re-recorded albums. However, legally speaking, she was allowed to start the whole process only earlier this month so it might still take a while!
